Marc-André ter Stegen Breaks Silence on Barcelona Situation, Vows Full Cooperation
Barcelona’s star goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has spoken out for the first time regarding recent speculation about his situation at the club. In a heartfelt statement shared on Friday, the German international expressed his commitment to both his recovery and his future with the Catalan giants.
Ter Stegen confirmed he is ready to work closely with the club’s management to “facilitate the necessary authorisation” for his medical reports, ensuring full transparency. He also made it clear that his decision to undergo surgery was taken only after medical consultation and with Barcelona’s full approval, prioritising his long-term health and career.
“The past few months have been especially challenging for me, both physically and personally,” he said. “My priority has always been to return to the pitch as quickly as possible to help my team.”
Addressing rumours, Ter Stegen clarified that all club signings and contract renewals were completed before his surgery, stressing that there was no link between his absence and Barcelona’s player registration matters. He called any other interpretation “unfair and inaccurate.”
The 32-year-old reiterated his love for the club, the city, and its fans, saying: “My commitment to these colours remains total. I trust that, through dialogue and responsibility, we can resolve any issues constructively.”
Ending on a passionate note, Ter Stegen assured supporters: “Much can change, but one thing will never change – I love you, Culers!”
