Venues Confirmed for 2025 Copa América de Béisbol in Venezuela and Panama
August 19, 2025 –
The official venues and group allocations for the highly anticipated 2025 Copa América de Béisbol have been confirmed, marking a major milestone for international baseball fans across the Americas.
Group A: Venezuela to Host
Games for Group A will take place at two of Venezuela’s premier stadiums:
-
Estadio Monumental de Caracas Simón Bolívar – A world-class venue that previously hosted the 2023 Caribbean Series and is already confirmed to host again in 2026.
-
Estadio Jorge Luis García Carneiro (La Guaira) – Another experienced host venue, also set for the 2026 Caribbean Series.
Group A will feature Venezuela, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Curacao.
Group B: Panama’s New Stadium Takes Spotlight
Group B games will be played at the newly opened Estadio de Béisbol Mariano Rivera in La Chorrera, Panama. With a capacity of 10,000, this state-of-the-art stadium hosted its first events in 2024 and will now welcome its biggest international competition yet.
Group B will feature Panama, the United States, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Canada, and Brazil.
What’s at Stake
The 2025 Copa América de Béisbol is more than just regional bragging rights. This edition will play a crucial role in shaping the WBSC World Rankings and the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
-
The tournament serves as the last chance for teams to secure a top-12 ranking before the Premier12 cutoff.
-
A top-12 finish guarantees direct qualification for the 2027 Premier12, while lower-ranked teams must battle through qualifiers.
-
For teams like Canada (20th) and Brazil (21st), a strong performance could be decisive.
In addition, the tournament will distribute qualification spots:
-
Four berths for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
-
Five berths for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
Player Eligibility
Only players not on MLB 40-man rosters are eligible. This opens the door for athletes from the minor leagues, independent leagues, and international circuits to represent their nations.
Olympic Pathway Updates
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) is expected to release the official Olympic qualification format in October 2025, outlining the road to Los Angeles 2028. The Copa América will be a defining moment in that journey.
