Punjab Deploys Thermal Drones for Flood Relief, Maryam Nawaz Praises PSCA

Lahore – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has lauded the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) for deploying thermal imaging drones to support flood relief operations across the province.
Drones Locate Stranded Citizens and Livestock
According to officials, thermal drones were used in flood-hit districts including Sialkot, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Jhang. The technology allowed rescue teams to spot citizens and livestock trapped in inaccessible areas, enabling swift evacuations.
Authorities reported that over 800 rescue cases were successfully managed with drone assistance, making this one of the largest technology-driven disaster responses in Punjab’s history.
Maryam Nawaz Commends PSCA
In a statement, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the PSCA team, highlighting that integrating drone technology with the Safe City surveillance network has significantly improved Punjab’s emergency response system.
She emphasized that advanced technology can play a key role in saving lives during natural disasters.
Operations to Continue Amid Fresh Rainfall Warnings
Officials confirmed that drone operations will continue as fresh rainfall and rising floodwater risks remain. Relief teams are on high alert to provide immediate assistance to affected communities across the province.
