Warwickshire CCC and Lahore Qalandars Join Hands for Global Cricket Partnership
LAHORE: Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC) and Lahore Qalandars have announced a long-term global partnership, aiming to take cricket development to new heights in Birmingham, Warwickshire, and Lahore.
The collaboration, set to officially launch this autumn, is designed to support the growth of cricket worldwide. Key initiatives include:
-
Talent and performance development programs
-
Player and coach exchange opportunities
-
Joint academies and scouting networks
-
Grassroots and community support projects
-
Commercial ventures for 2026 and beyond
This comes shortly after Warwickshire’s major acquisition of Birmingham Phoenix in partnership with Knighthead LLP in July 2025, showcasing the club’s ambition to strengthen its global presence.
Speaking on the partnership, Abraham Khan, Finance Director of Warwickshire CCC, said:
“Working with Lahore Qalandars is about more than elite cricket. Together, we want to create opportunities for young players, expand grassroots programs, launch community initiatives, and build a stronger future for the sport.”
Sameen Rana, Owner and COO of Lahore Qalandars, added:
“This agreement reflects our vision of thinking beyond boundaries. By joining forces with Warwickshire, we can nurture talent, inspire communities in both Lahore and Birmingham, and leave a lasting impact on cricket at every level.”
The deal was made possible by the British Pakistan Initiative (BPI) after a successful Academy Tour to Lahore in March 2025. What began as a cultural exchange has now grown into a comprehensive global alliance with the potential to reshape cricket across two continents.
