Ogra raises RLNG prices for September

Ogra Announces RLNG Price Hike for September

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has announced a slight increase in the prices of Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) for September 2025, applicable at the transmission stage for both Sui gas companies.

Price Adjustment for SNGPL

For Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL), which supplies gas to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, RLNG prices at the transmission stage have been raised by 2.36% to $11.24 per million British thermal units (mmBtu), compared to $10.98 in August.

At the distribution stage, the price increased by 2.38% to $12.01 per mmBtu, up from $11.73. Ogra noted that system losses for SNGPL at the distribution stage currently stand at 7.47%.

Price Adjustment for SSGCL

For Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL), which serves Sindh and Balochistan, RLNG prices at the transmission stage rose by 2.62% to $9.86 per mmBtu, compared to $9.61 last month.

At the distribution stage, the price climbed 2.63% to $11.01 per mmBtu, up from $10.73 in August. The company’s system losses at the distribution level were reported at 10.6%.

Reason Behind the Increase

According to Ogra, the price hike is linked to an increase in the delivered ex-ship (DES) price for September.

The September RLNG price basket is based on eight cargoes — four priced at $9.20 per mmBtu and another four at $7.02 per mmBtu — imported by Pakistan State Oil (PSO) under its long-term contracts with Qatar Gas, averaging $8.11 per mmBtu.

Meanwhile, Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) did not import any cargo this month, continuing its deferral due to lower domestic demand.
