A’ja Wilson Powers Las Vegas Aces to WNBA Semifinals With 38 Points

Las Vegas: A’ja Wilson delivered a dominant performance with 38 points, tying her playoff career high, as the Las Vegas Aces edged the Seattle Storm 74-73 on Thursday night to clinch a place in the WNBA semifinals.

Wilson, who scored 25 points in the second half alone, missed a late layup with 25 seconds to go, allowing Seattle’s Erica Wheeler to sink a jumper and give the Storm a 73-72 lead with 18 seconds remaining.

However, Jackie Young came to the rescue with a go-ahead putback basket with 12.4 seconds left. Seattle had one last chance, but Wheeler’s free-throw-line jumper bounced off the rim, sealing the victory for Las Vegas.

Aces Extend Semifinal Streak

With this win, the second-seeded Aces advanced to their seventh straight semifinal appearance. They will face the Indiana Fever on Sunday, who earlier eliminated the Atlanta Dream.

Standout Performances

  • A’ja Wilson: 38 points, 14-of-26 shooting, 10-of-11 free throws

  • Jackie Young: 14 points, clutch game-winning basket

  • Chelsea Gray: 12 points, 8 assists

Wilson has now scored 30+ points in a playoff game six times, tying for the second-most in WNBA history.
