Quetta Gladiators Aim Strong Comeback After Early Struggles in PSL 11

 10 April 2026

Quetta Gladiators are looking to bounce back in the Karachi leg of Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) after a difficult start to their campaign in Lahore.

Spinner Abrar Ahmed said the team has put past results behind them and is fully focused on restarting their tournament with renewed energy.

He explained that the squad is treating the next stage as a fresh beginning after inconsistent performances in earlier matches.

“We have left the previous stage behind because it wasn’t good for us. Now we want to begin again from here,” Abrar said.

The spinner also highlighted that conditions in Karachi could support bowlers, especially spinners, as the tournament progresses.

Reflecting on Quetta Gladiators’ earlier matches in Lahore, Abrar admitted the team lost key games despite being in strong positions, mainly due to mistakes in the middle order.

“We were in control in a few matches, including against Islamabad and Karachi Kings, but we couldn’t finish them,” he added.

Despite the setbacks, Abrar emphasized that the team’s focus remains on collective success rather than individual performances.

He said his main goal is to contribute to the team’s overall success and help Quetta Gladiators win the tournament. According to him, maintaining consistency and an effective economy rate is more important than individual wicket tallies if it benefits the team.

Talking about modern T20 cricket, Abrar noted that bowlers must adapt quickly and make smart decisions based on pitch conditions and opposition batters.

“You have to read the wicket, understand the batter, and adjust your plans accordingly,” he said, describing T20 bowling as highly situation-driven.

He also mentioned that players miss the presence of live crowds, saying the energy from fans plays an important role in motivating teams during matches.

Abrar added that he remains focused on his performance and prefers to concentrate on his game regardless of external criticism or pressure.
