PCB Considers Allowing Fans Back in Stadiums for PSL 11

 Apr 14, 2026

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering the possibility of allowing spectators to return to stadiums during the ongoing Pakistan Super League Season 11.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that he plans to once again request Shehbaz Sharif to permit fan attendance at matches. Speaking to the media in Karachi, he emphasized that the board is making efforts to restore the traditional stadium atmosphere.

However, he noted that any decision will depend on the broader global situation, particularly ongoing developments related to the Middle East. Earlier, the PCB had announced that PSL 11 matches would be held without spectators as part of government-led austerity measures.

To minimize travel and manage resources, the tournament has been limited to matches in Karachi and Lahore. These steps were taken in line with national efforts to address economic challenges, including the global fuel crisis.

Meanwhile, several franchise owners have urged authorities to allow fans back into stadiums, highlighting the importance of crowd presence to the spirit and identity of the league. They have appealed to both federal and provincial leadership for reconsideration.

Naqvi also praised security and law enforcement agencies for ensuring the smooth conduct of matches under current conditions. While expressing optimism about the return of spectators, he confirmed that there will be no changes to the existing tournament schedule.

He further added that franchises will receive gate revenue, with the PCB covering related operational costs. Additionally, the board is reviewing plans to upgrade and potentially rebuild the National Bank Cricket Arena to enhance facilities for players and fans in the future.
