Report Claiming Asim Munir Advised Trump on Iran Blockade Denied by Officials

A recent report suggesting that Asim Munir advised Donald Trump to lift a naval blockade on Iranian ports has been rejected by Pakistani officials, who have termed the claims inaccurate.

The report, originally published by Reuters, cited unnamed sources and alleged that Pakistan’s military leadership had urged the United States to reconsider its stance as part of efforts to support peace talks with Iran.

However, official sources in Pakistan have strongly denied these claims, stating that no such advice or communication was made. They described the report as misleading and lacking factual basis.

A senior official clarified that no Pakistani security authority had shared any such information with international media. The report was labeled as misinformation, with officials emphasizing that Pakistan has not engaged in any backchannel diplomacy related to US-Iran tensions.

The government has reiterated that there has been no contact or proposal of this nature from Islamabad. Meanwhile, the White House has not issued any formal response regarding the matter so far.
