Pakistan Seeks Early Launch of Direct Flights to the United States
Mohsin Naqvi has said the government is keen to see direct flights between Pakistan and the United States begin at the earliest opportunity.
The remarks were made during a meeting with senior US officials, including Paul Kapur and Natalie Baker, according to an official statement.
Talks on bilateral cooperation
The meeting focused on Pakistan-US relations, regional developments, and ongoing cooperation between the two countries. Officials also exchanged views on the latest situation in the Middle East.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and other senior officials were also present during the discussions.
Focus on aviation connectivity
Mohsin Naqvi stated that stronger air connectivity could help improve travel, business, and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and the United States.
The development comes shortly after Pakistan International Airlines resumed direct flights to London following a long suspension.
Security assurances for foreign investment
During the meeting, the interior minister also said Pakistan had provided strong security arrangements for international companies working on major development projects, including the Reko Diq mining project in Balochistan.
Officials described Pakistan-US ties as based on mutual trust and continued bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
