Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday inaugurated multiple public welfare and healthcare projects in Balochistan, including the province’s first air ambulance service and a modern trauma center in Quetta.

The newly launched initiatives are aimed at improving emergency medical response and expanding healthcare access across remote and underserved areas of the province.

Air ambulance service launched

During the ceremony, Bilawal welcomed the launch of the Benazir Ambulance Service and the Peoples Air Ambulance Service, describing them as important steps for improving emergency healthcare in Balochistan.

He said air evacuation facilities are especially important for critically ill patients living in distant areas where access to hospitals can be difficult.

New trauma center in Quetta

A new 150-bed trauma center in Quetta was also inaugurated as part of the healthcare expansion projects. Officials say the facility is expected to strengthen emergency treatment services and improve patient care capacity in the provincial capital.

Focus on healthcare access

Addressing the event, Bilawal stated that healthcare is a basic right and reaffirmed the commitment to providing better medical services and treatment facilities for the public.

He also appreciated healthcare workers serving in different parts of Balochistan and announced that additional development and healthcare projects would be launched during future visits to the province.
