New Peoples Bus Service Route Announced for Hyderabad After Eid
Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced the launch of a new Peoples Bus Service route in Hyderabad following Eid ul Adha 2026, as part of efforts to expand public transport facilities across the province.
Speaking during a session of the Sindh Assembly, he said the new route will operate between Latifabad and Hyder Chowk, aiming to improve mobility for daily commuters.
Expansion of Public Transport Services
The minister noted that while new routes are planned for Karachi, the current shortage of buses has limited expansion for now. He added that additional routes will be introduced once more vehicles are available.
He also emphasized the importance of disciplined operations, directing that Peoples Bus Service vehicles should only stop at designated bus stops to avoid traffic disruption and ensure passenger safety.
Focus on Transport Improvements
According to the minister, development work is ongoing across Sindh, including major urban centers, as part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and public services.
Plans for Electric Bus Fleet
In a separate update, he said the provincial government has approved the procurement of 500 electric buses under a public-private partnership model. The initiative is aimed at modernizing the transport system and promoting cleaner, more efficient urban mobility across Sindh.
