Pakistan Railways Upgrades Karakoram Express With Better Passenger Facilities

Pakistan Railways has introduced an upgraded version of the Karakoram Express, with improvements aimed at providing passengers with a more comfortable and convenient travel experience.

The upgraded train was formally launched from Lahore by Pakistan Railways Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Hafeezullah. Lahore Divisional Superintendent Inamullah and other railway officials were also present at the launch ceremony.

Officials Inspect Upgraded Coaches

During the ceremony, Hafeezullah inspected different coaches of the Karakoram Express and reviewed the facilities available for passengers.

Railway officials also briefed him about the improvements carried out as part of the latest upgrade. The initiative focuses on enhancing passenger comfort and improving service standards.

More Trains to Be Upgraded

The Pakistan Railways CEO said the department plans to upgrade additional passenger trains in phases.

According to the railway administration, the broader programme is intended to improve passenger facilities while maintaining a focus on safety, comfort and service quality.

The Karakoram Express upgrade is part of ongoing efforts by Pakistan Railways to modernize its passenger services and improve facilities across its train network.

Pakistan Railways had previously announced plans to upgrade the Karakoram Express along with the Karachi Express and Millat Express as part of a wider passenger-service improvement programme.
