Katie McCabe Joins Chelsea Women After Arsenal Exit

LONDON: Chelsea Women have confirmed the signing of Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe, who will join the club on July 1 after the expiry of her Arsenal contract.

The 30-year-old defender has agreed a three-year deal with an option for an additional year, the Women’s Super League club said.

McCabe leaves Arsenal after a successful spell that included winning the 2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Chelsea, who recently lost their six-year dominance of the Women’s Super League title to Manchester City, are strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.

In a statement, McCabe said she was ready for a new challenge and eager to contribute to Chelsea’s ambitions.

She added that she looks forward to playing at Stamford Bridge and competing for trophies with her new team.

The signing marks one of Chelsea’s key additions ahead of the upcoming Women’s Super League campaign.
