Rain Forecast for Several Cities of Pakistan on June 11–12
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecast rainfall in several parts of Pakistan on June 11 and 12, bringing a possible short-term relief after days of intense heat across the country.
Rain Expected in Northern and Central Regions
According to the advisory, rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in Islamabad, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Punjab. The cities likely to experience rainfall include Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Lahore.
Weather officials say this system may temporarily reduce high temperatures in these regions, which have been facing persistent heat in recent days.
Hot Weather to Continue in Most Areas
Despite the forecasted rain, hot and dry conditions are expected to continue across much of Pakistan before the weather system arrives.
Southern Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan are likely to remain under severe heat, with temperatures expected to rise further in several districts. Cities such as Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and Tharparkar will continue to experience hot and dry weather conditions.
Light Rain in Parts of Balochistan
The advisory also suggests that northeastern areas of Balochistan, including Zhob and Musakhel, may receive light rain accompanied by thunder on June 11 and 12.
Overall Weather Outlook
While the upcoming system may bring scattered rainfall to selected regions, most of the country is expected to remain under intense summer conditions over the coming days, with heatwaves still affecting large areas.
