Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan has reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the development of Pakistan cricket, saying he is ready to work with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) whenever an opportunity arises.
Speaking during a visit to Baldia Town Stadium in Karachi, the legendary batter said he would be honored to serve the country in any capacity and contribute his experience to the national cricket setup.
Younis stated that representing and serving Pakistan has always been a matter of pride for him. He added that if entrusted with any responsibility, he would strive to perform his duties with dedication and professionalism.
The former captain also emphasized the importance of involving experienced former players and support staff in the growth and development of the national team. According to him, seasoned professionals can play a valuable role in mentoring players and strengthening the overall cricket structure.
Younis Khan noted that whether the opportunity comes to him or another former cricketer, the primary focus should remain on serving Pakistan cricket and helping the team achieve success at the highest level.
Recent media reports had linked Younis Khan with a potential coaching role in the national setup. However, subsequent reports suggested that current Test team head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed is expected to continue in his position for Pakistan’s upcoming Test assignments.
