Eight Division Champions Advance to Puerto Rico Double-A League Carnival of Champions

The first round of the postseason in Puerto Rico’s Superior Double-A Baseball League has concluded, with eight division champions earning places in the upcoming Carnival of Champions, which begins on June 19.

The Superior Double-A League, organized by the Puerto Rican Baseball Federation (FBPR), completed an exciting round of playoff action featuring several closely contested series and memorable performances.

Defending champions Juncos Mulos secured the Eastern Division title, their 24th division championship, by defeating Las Piedras Artesanos 4-1 in the series. After losing the opening game, Juncos responded with four consecutive victories to advance.

In the Southeastern Division, Yabucoa Azucareros claimed the championship by defeating the 2025 runners-up, Patillas Leones, in a five-game series.

One of the postseason’s most remarkable stories came in the Central Division, where Plata del Comerío Pescadores completed a comeback from a 3-0 series deficit to defeat Cayey Toritos 4-3 and capture the division title.

Carolina Gigantes emerged as Metro Division champions after overcoming Dorado Guardianes, while Coamo Maratonistas secured the Southern Division crown with a strong series victory over Salinas Peces Voladores.

Sabana Grande Petateros advanced as Southwestern Division champions after completing a series sweep against Yauco Cafeteros. In the Northern Division, Hatillo Tigres celebrated a historic championship by defeating Florida Titanes.

The Northwestern Division produced one of the biggest surprises of the playoffs as Hormigueros Libertadores rallied to eliminate San Sebastián Patrulleros. Despite San Sebastián finishing the regular season with an impressive 19-1 record, Hormigueros won the decisive seventh game to claim the division title.
