PCB Launches Nationwide U19 One-Day Tournament Featuring 103 Districts
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the start of the Regional Inter-District U19 One-Day Tournament, bringing together 103 districts and zones from across the country.
The competition will feature more than 1,600 young cricketers and will be played during June and July. Organized under the PCB’s regional structure, the participating teams have been divided into 16 regions.
To encourage competitive performances, the winning team in each region will receive a cash prize of Rs. 200,000, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs. 100,000.
The tournament began in Multan and Larkana on Monday, while matches in Karachi and Dera Murad Jamali are scheduled to start on Tuesday. Competitions in Abbottabad, Bahawalpur, and Hyderabad will commence on Thursday.
According to the PCB, schedules for the remaining regions will be announced after the completion of player fitness assessments.
The event is expected to provide a valuable platform for emerging cricketers to showcase their talent. Outstanding performers will be considered for selection in 18 regional U19 teams, which will be finalized later this summer.
The tournament also serves as an opportunity for players to impress selectors ahead of Pakistan’s U19 tour of England, scheduled from September 2 to September 16. The tour will include one Youth Test match and four Youth One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
