Police Arrest Suspect After Foreign Woman Reports Sexual Assault in Karachi
Police in Karachi have arrested a man after a foreign woman reported an alleged sexual assault in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area, officials confirmed.
According to police, the case was registered at Darakhshan Police Station based on the woman’s complaint. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
The complainant, a 49-year-old foreign national residing in Karachi, reported the alleged incident to police, who subsequently initiated legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of Pakistani law.
Officials said the woman underwent a medical examination, and forensic samples were collected as part of the investigation.
According to the complaint, the alleged incident occurred at her residence during the early hours of July 17. The woman stated that she resisted the alleged assault and immediately sought help. Police later arrested the suspect, who is now in custody.
A senior police official confirmed that investigators are examining all available evidence, including forensic findings, to determine the facts of the case.
Authorities have emphasized that the investigation remains in progress, and further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
