Lahore Government Schools Continue Admission Drive After Falling Short of Enrollment Target

Government high schools and higher secondary schools in Lahore have yet to reach their student enrollment target for the current academic year, prompting education authorities to intensify ongoing admission efforts.

According to the Lahore Education Authority, government schools were assigned a target of enrolling 393,000 students by March 5, 2026. Officials say current enrollment has reached approximately 390,000 students, leaving a small gap to the target.

Higher Enrollment Goal for the Academic Year

The overall enrollment target for the current academic year has been set at 430,000 students.

To help achieve this objective, education authorities have directed school heads to increase admission efforts and encourage each institution to enroll at least 10 additional students.

Door-to-Door Campaigns Planned

As part of the enrollment campaign, schools have also been instructed to conduct door-to-door outreach to identify children who are currently out of school and encourage their admission into government educational institutions.

Officials say the initiative is aimed at improving access to education and increasing student participation across the district.

Schools Asked to Meet Assigned Targets

The Lahore Education Authority has advised school administrations to work toward meeting their assigned enrollment goals.

According to officials, enrollment performance will be monitored, and schools are expected to continue implementing admission campaigns in line with the department’s directives.

The ongoing initiative is part of broader efforts to increase school enrollment and promote access to education for children across Lahore.
