Pakistan Reaches U17 Volleyball World Championship Round of 16

Pakistan secured a place in the Round of 16 at the FIVB U17 World Championship 2026 after defeating Algeria 3-0 in its final Pool E match in Doha, Qatar.
Pakistan produced a strong performance against Algeria, winning all three sets by the same score of 25-17 to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament.
Pakistan Complete Dominant Victory
Pakistan controlled the match from the beginning and maintained its advantage throughout all three sets.
The national team won the first set 25-17 before repeating the same score in the second and third sets to complete a convincing 3-0 victory.
Fahad Ali was Pakistan’s leading scorer with 20 points, including 16 from attacks. Captain Muhammad Irfan also contributed to the team’s performance with points from attacks and blocks.
Pakistan also finished strongly in several key statistical areas, registering 37 attack points, 11 blocks and four service points. The team benefited from 23 errors committed by Algeria.
Second Win of the Tournament
The victory over Algeria was Pakistan’s second win at the 2026 FIVB U17 World Championship.
Pakistan began its campaign with another impressive 3-0 victory, defeating Chinese Taipei 25-20, 25-10 and 25-23.
Fahad Ali led Pakistan’s scoring in that match with 13 points, while captain Muhammad Irfan contributed 11 points.
Pakistan also recorded 36 attack points, eight blocks and six service points against Chinese Taipei.
Defeat Against Iran
After its successful opening match, Pakistan faced Iran in its second Pool E fixture.
Iran secured a 3-0 victory, but Pakistan bounced back strongly in its final pool match against Algeria to secure progression to the knockout stage.
Pakistan to Face Egypt
Pakistan will now meet Egypt in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, August 25, at the same venue in Doha.
A victory would send Pakistan into the quarterfinals of the competition.
The tournament is particularly significant for Pakistan as it marks the country’s first appearance at a world volleyball championship at any level.
The team’s progress to the knockout stage therefore represents an important milestone for volleyball in Pakistan.
