Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave Set for Road, Walking and Cycling Track Upgrades
Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave is set to receive infrastructure improvements, including road upgrades, walking tracks, cycling tracks and enhanced security facilities.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed relevant authorities to accelerate ongoing development work while maintaining the area’s existing green spaces.
Development Work Underway
Naqvi visited the Diplomatic Enclave on Tuesday to review progress on several infrastructure projects.
During the visit, he inspected work on the boundary wall, security checkpoints, cycling track and walking track. Officials briefed him about the progress of ongoing projects and their expected timelines.
The minister directed authorities to ensure that construction of the boundary wall continues without unnecessary delays. He also instructed officials to protect trees during the development work.
New Walking and Cycling Facilities
The cycling and walking tracks will be developed according to modern planning standards, with the aim of providing better facilities for residents and visitors.
Authorities have also been asked to widen roads in the Diplomatic Enclave to improve traffic movement and accessibility.
The development plan is intended to improve mobility within the area while upgrading its overall infrastructure.
Security Plan to Be Updated
Naqvi also directed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security to prepare an updated security plan for the Diplomatic Enclave based on current requirements.
The revised plan will focus on improving security arrangements for diplomatic missions, residents and visitors.
Parks to Be Upgraded
The interior minister also announced plans to restore and upgrade parks in the Diplomatic Enclave.
The government aims to develop the area into a secure, well-managed diplomatic zone with improved infrastructure, transportation facilities and public spaces.
During the briefing, the CDA chairman provided details about ongoing projects, expected completion timelines and future development plans.
The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other senior officials were also present during the minister’s visit.
