Sea Breeze Brings Relief to Karachi After Days of Hot and Humid Weather
Karachi residents experienced some relief on Saturday as the sea breeze returned after several days of intense heat and high humidity.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), southwesterly winds are currently blowing across the city at around 20 kilometers per hour, with occasional stronger gusts expected during the day. The weather is forecast to remain partly cloudy.
Despite the return of cooler coastal winds, conditions in the city are still expected to remain hot and humid. Humidity levels have been recorded at around 72 percent, which continues to increase the heat index and makes the temperature feel higher than the actual reading.
The Met Office has said that the maximum temperature is likely to stay between 35°C and 37°C. However, the sea breeze from the Arabian Sea is expected to reduce discomfort compared to earlier days when the airflow was disrupted.
Meteorologists explain that the sea breeze plays an important role in regulating Karachi’s coastal weather. Its temporary interruption in recent days contributed to higher temperatures and more uncomfortable conditions across the city.
Health experts continue to advise residents to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions while the hot and humid weather persists.
