Punjab Directs Government Schools to Grow Seasonal Vegetables
The Punjab School Education Department has directed government schools across the province to cultivate seasonal vegetables on school premises and ensure that the plants are properly maintained.
According to a circular issued to school heads, institutions have been asked to make suitable arrangements for vegetable cultivation and appoint a staff member to oversee the activity.
The department said schools where vegetable production has not been satisfactory should carry out the cultivation process again.
School administrations have also been instructed to ensure regular watering and proper care of the crops throughout the growing period.
Schools Asked to Share Daily Updates
Under the new instructions, schools will also be required to provide daily photographs showing the condition and maintenance of the vegetable plants.
Headmasters and other school heads have been directed to ensure that the instructions are followed properly.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging schools to make productive use of available space while promoting practical learning and basic agricultural activities among students.
