Pakistan Beat South Korea in Thrilling Hockey Test Opener

Pakistan’s national hockey team made an impressive start to its Test series against South Korea by securing a dramatic victory in the opening match.

The game ended in a high-scoring 5-5 draw during regulation time before Pakistan eventually won 4-3 in sudden death, following a 3-3 score in the shootout.

A crucial save by Pakistan’s goalkeeper during sudden death proved decisive and helped the Green Shirts secure the victory.

Pakistan and South Korea Fight to a 5-5 Draw

Both teams produced an attacking display throughout the match, with Pakistan finding the net five times.

Sufyan Khan led Pakistan’s scoring with two field goals, while Ahmad Nadeem, Muhammad Ammad and Rana Waheed each scored once.

The match remained level at 5-5 after full time, sending the contest into a shootout.

Pakistan Win After Dramatic Shootout

The shootout was also closely contested, with both sides scoring three goals to leave the score tied at 3-3.

Pakistan then held its nerve during sudden death to complete a 4-3 victory.

Zakariya Hayat scored twice during the shootout and sudden-death phase, while Arbaz, Rana Waheed and Hanan Shahid also contributed goals.

Ahmad Nadeem, Ammad Butt and Muhammad Ammad also played important roles during the decisive phase of the contest.

Pakistan Take 1-0 Series Lead

The victory gives Pakistan a 1-0 lead in the Test series against South Korea.

Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani praised the team’s determined performance and congratulated the players and management on the victory.

He also expressed his best wishes to the team for the remaining matches of the series.

With the opening game decided after a closely fought contest, Pakistan will now look to build on the momentum and strengthen its position in the upcoming fixtures.
