18 Teams Qualify for 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup

The qualification process for the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup has entered its next phase, with 18 of the 32 participating teams now confirmed.
The first stage of qualification concluded after all five women’s continental competitions were completed. Italy secured an automatic place as the 2025 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship winner, while Canada and the United States qualified as the tournament’s co-hosts.
The remaining 15 teams earned their places through continental qualification tournaments.
Teams Qualified for Women’s World Cup 2027
The following 18 teams have secured qualification for the tournament:
- Italy
- Canada
- United States
- Argentina
- Brazil
- Cameroon
- China
- Colombia
- Cuba
- Dominican Republic
- Egypt
- Japan
- Kenya
- Poland
- Puerto Rico
- Serbia
- Thailand
- Türkiye
A total of 32 teams will participate in the 2027 World Cup, meaning 14 qualification places are still available.
Italy, Canada and USA Get Reserved Places
Three teams were confirmed before the continental qualification events.
Italy earned its place as the reigning world champion after winning the 2025 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship.
Canada and the United States also received automatic qualification as co-hosts of the 2027 tournament.
NORCECA Qualification
The North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) secured three World Cup places through its 2026 continental championship.
Cuba and the Dominican Republic booked their places after reaching the semifinals alongside hosts Canada and the United States.
Puerto Rico later claimed the third continental qualification spot after finishing fifth in the tournament standings.
AVC Qualification
Three Asian teams have also qualified for the 2027 World Cup.
Thailand and China secured their places by reaching the final of the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Asian Championship in Tianjin, China.
Thailand won the continental title, while China finished second.
Japan secured the third Asian qualification place after winning the bronze-medal match.
CAVB Qualification
Africa’s three World Cup representatives are Egypt, Kenya and Cameroon.
Egypt and Kenya secured qualification by reaching the final of the 2026 CAVB Women’s Volleyball African Nations Championship in Nairobi.
Egypt went on to win the African title, while Kenya finished as runners-up.
Cameroon claimed the third African ticket after winning the bronze medal.
14 Qualification Places Still Available
With 18 teams already confirmed, the remaining 14 places will be determined through the next stages of the qualification process.
The 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup will bring together leading national teams from around the world, with Canada and the United States preparing to host the competition.
The completed continental qualification events have established the first group of participants, while teams that have yet to qualify will continue competing for the remaining places.
