Pakistan Women Beat Thailand to Reach Asian Games 2026 Semifinals

Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated Thailand by three wickets in a rain-shortened quarterfinal of the 2026 Asian Games Women’s Cricket Competition to book their place in the semifinals.
The match was played at Korogi Sports Park, where persistent rain delayed the toss and reduced the contest to 11 overs per side.
Thailand Post 91 Runs
After being asked to bat first, Thailand scored 91/4 in 11 overs, with wicketkeeper-batter Nannapat Koncharoenkai leading the innings.
Koncharoenkai scored 49 runs from 38 deliveries, hitting seven boundaries and providing stability throughout the shortened innings.
Phannita Maya added 15 runs from 16 balls, while Thailand captain Naruemol Chaiwai provided a late burst with 10 runs from just three deliveries, including a four and a six.
Natthakan Chantham scored six off five balls, while Chanida Sutthiruang finished unbeaten on three. Aphisara Suwanchonrathi contributed one run.
Fatima Sana Leads Pakistan Bowling
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana was the leading bowler for her side, finishing with figures of 2/22 from three overs.
Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu also picked up one wicket as Pakistan kept Thailand to a manageable total despite the limited number of overs.
Pakistan Chase Down Target
Pakistan needed 92 runs to win and reached the target in the final over after losing seven wickets.
Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored for Pakistan with a quick 25 off 14 balls, including three fours and a six.
Fatima Sana continued her contribution with the bat, scoring 21 from 13 deliveries with three fours and a six.
Gull Feroza added 16 runs from 13 balls, while Tuba Hassan played an important late-innings role with 13 off seven deliveries, including a four and a six.
Umm-e-Hani Hits Winning Run
The match went down to the final over, but Pakistan held their nerve to complete the chase.
Umm-e-Hani scored the winning run to seal a three-wicket victory and send Pakistan into the semifinals of the Asian Games women’s cricket competition.
Pakistan will now prepare for the next stage of the tournament as they continue their campaign in the 2026 Asian Games.
