Canada will host part of the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup after Montreal and Quebec City were officially selected as two of the tournament’s host cities.
The announcement was made by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) on October 1, confirming that the two Canadian cities will join three US cities as venues for the major international tournament.
Montreal’s Bell Centre and Quebec City’s Videotron Centre will host Pool Play and Round of 16 matches when the competition takes place in 2027.
Canada and the United States were announced as co-hosts of the tournament in September 2025. The other host cities are Omaha, Nebraska; Orlando, Florida; and Anaheim, California.
The 2027 edition will feature 32 national teams from around the world and will be the first FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup to be staged in North America.
The tournament is expected to bring many of the world’s leading women’s volleyball players to courts across Canada and the United States, providing an opportunity to further expand the sport’s profile in the region.
For Canada, the selection of Montreal and Quebec City represents a significant moment for the country’s volleyball community. The event will also provide Canadian fans with an opportunity to watch international-level volleyball on home soil.
Volleyball Canada Director of Indoor International Events Alan Ahac said hosting the tournament in Montreal and Quebec City would help promote the sport among Canadian fans and encourage young athletes to become involved in volleyball.
He also highlighted the timing of the event, with the tournament taking place ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games.
The 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup will therefore bring together 32 national teams across five host cities in Canada and the United States, marking a new chapter for the competition in North America.
