Sindh Plans to Name Katcha Area Police Camps After Martyred Officers

The Sindh government has decided to name new police camps in the Katcha areas after police officers and personnel who lost their lives while performing their duties.

The decision was discussed during a high-level meeting held at the Sindh Assembly to review development, rehabilitation and public issues in the Katcha areas of Sukkur and Larkana divisions.

The meeting was chaired by Faryal Talpur, head of the Standing Committee on Home Affairs. Officials reviewed ongoing development projects, law and order measures and plans to improve basic facilities in the region.

Commissioners from Sukkur and Larkana briefed the meeting on development and rehabilitation activities. The discussions covered education, healthcare, mobile medical facilities, roads and other infrastructure requirements.

Faryal Talpur said the provincial government would take comprehensive steps for the rehabilitation and long-term development of the Katcha areas. She also directed officials to assess the requirements of areas that have not yet been properly surveyed.

Officials were asked to prepare detailed recommendations regarding schools, healthcare facilities, roads, police stations, police posts and training centres.

Talpur further directed that police camps established in the Katcha areas should be named after police martyrs as a tribute to their services and sacrifices.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said the development of the Katcha areas and resolution of public issues remain among the provincial government’s priorities.

He stressed the need for coordination between relevant departments and institutions to ensure effective implementation of development initiatives.

Elected representatives from Sukkur and Larkana divisions also presented proposals regarding local issues, development needs and public facilities during the meeting.
