AJK Colleges to Observe Five-Day Working Week

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Higher Education Department has introduced a five-day working week for all government and private colleges across the region.

Under the revised schedule, colleges will operate from Monday to Friday, while Saturday and Sunday will be weekly holidays.

The Higher Education Secretariat has issued an official notification confirming the new working schedule, which has come into effect immediately.

New Schedule Applies to All Colleges

The decision covers all government and private colleges operating under the administrative control of the AJK Higher Education Department.

College administrations have been instructed to implement the revised schedule and ensure that routine academic activities continue from Monday through Friday.

Saturday and Sunday Declared Holidays

With the introduction of the five-day working week, students and teaching staff at colleges across AJK will now have two weekly holidays.

The department clarified that regular college activities will continue during the five working days, while Saturday and Sunday will remain holidays under the new arrangement.

The latest notification formally establishes the revised working pattern for colleges throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
