The 2026 Commonwealth Games continue on Thursday, July 30, with another action-packed day in Glasgow featuring medal events in athletics, track cycling, para track cycling, weightlifting, boxing, bowls, para bowls, and netball.

A total of 17 gold medals will be awarded across multiple sports, making it one of the busiest days of the competition.

Track Cycling Takes Center Stage

Track cycling begins at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, where fans can look forward to the exciting men’s and women’s team sprint finals.

The event is expected to feature several top riders, including:

  • Emma Finucane (Wales)
  • Katy Marchant (England)
  • Sophie Capewell (England)

The competition will also include the Commonwealth Games debut of the elimination race.

Athletics Stars Return to the Track

Athletics and para athletics will award seven gold medals, with several leading sprinters aiming for podium finishes.

Athletes to watch include:

  • Zharnel Hughes (England) – Men’s 200m
  • Emmanuel Eseme (Cameroon) – Commonwealth Games 100m champion
  • Lachlan Kennedy (Australia) – Men’s 200m
  • Jessica Hull (Australia) – Women’s mile
  • Tom Walsh (New Zealand) – Men’s shot put

Weightlifting Medals Up for Grabs

The final day of weightlifting will feature three gold medal events:

  • Men’s 110kg
  • Women’s +86kg
  • Men’s +100kg

England’s Emily Campbell, a two-time Olympic medallist, will be among the leading contenders in the women’s heavyweight category.
