Canada Set for Exhibition Softball Series Against World No. 1 Japan

Canada’s Women’s National Softball Team will continue its international campaign with a seven-game exhibition tour of Japan from June 26 to July 1.

The tour comes shortly after Canada secured qualification for the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals 2027 in Australia by winning the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group Prague tournament.

Currently ranked fourth in the world, Canada will face top-ranked Japan in four exhibition games at Utsugi Stadium in Takasaki. The series will begin with back-to-back doubleheaders on June 26 and 27, providing the Canadian team with a valuable opportunity to compete against one of the strongest programs in international softball.

The matches are expected to help Canada continue building momentum and gain experience against elite-level opposition as preparations continue for future international competitions.

Following the four games against Japan, Canada will play two exhibition matches against Japanese club team Bic Camera on June 29. The team will then face Tokyo International University on June 30 before concluding the tour with another game against Bic Camera on July 1.

The exhibition series offers an important chance for players and coaches to evaluate performance, develop team chemistry, and prepare for upcoming international events.

With both teams ranked among the world’s leading softball nations, the Canada-Japan series is expected to provide competitive and high-quality softball throughout the tour.
