Cattle markets across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed strong business activity on Sunday as citizens rushed to purchase sacrificial animals ahead of Eid ul Adha.

One of the busiest cattle markets on Ring Road near the city slaughterhouse experienced heavy traffic congestion due to the large number of visitors and transport vehicles. Police officials remained present to manage traffic flow in the area.

Residents in different parts of Malakand division, including Chakdara, Mingora, and Matta, said many buyers preferred locally bred animals this year due to comparatively lower transportation costs.

Locally popular breeds such as Achai cows and Azikheli buffaloes remained in high demand among customers.

Meanwhile, some traders in Charsadda reported slower sales compared to previous years, saying inflation and reduced purchasing power had affected customer spending during the Eid season.
