Construction Begins on Burj Quaid, Planned to Become Pakistan’s Tallest Building

Construction has officially begun on Burj Quaid, a new high-rise development in Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi, which is planned to become the tallest building project in Pakistan upon completion.

The foundation stone for the project was laid during a groundbreaking ceremony attended by officials from DHA Karachi, DHA City, and representatives of the construction and real estate sector.

Twin Towers Planned for Karachi

According to project details, Burj Quaid will consist of two 82-storey towers to be built on approximately six acres of land at DHA Golf Club, Karachi.

Once completed, the twin towers are expected to become the tallest buildings in the country, adding a new landmark to Karachi’s skyline.

Regulatory Approvals Obtained

Project officials stated that the required approvals for the high-rise development have been obtained from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), allowing construction to move forward in accordance with applicable regulations.

Focus on Modern Urban Development

Speaking at the ceremony, DHA City Administrator Brigadier Kashif Naeem said the project is intended to promote modern urban development and support commercial and residential growth within DHA.

He added that the development is expected to contribute to economic activity and encourage investment from both local and overseas investors.

Employment and Investment Opportunities

Officials said the project is expected to generate thousands of employment opportunities during both the construction and operational phases.

They also highlighted ongoing infrastructure and public service projects in DHA City, including healthcare developments such as Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and a Dow Hospital, which are currently under development.

Developer Shares Project Vision

ABS Developers CEO Dr. Subiel Akram said Burj Quaid reflects the company’s long-term vision of contributing to Pakistan’s real estate and urban development sector through large-scale investment.

He noted that the company aims to deliver a modern mixed-use development that aligns with international construction standards while supporting future economic growth.

Construction on the project has now commenced, while additional details regarding the development timeline and completion schedule are expected to be announced as work progresses.
