Ferran Torres Scores Again as PSG Beat Marseille 2-1

Ferran Torres continued his strong start at Paris Saint-Germain by scoring in a 2-1 victory over Olympique de Marseille in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
The Spanish forward came off the bench in the second half and opened the scoring at the Orange Velodrome, helping PSG secure three points against their league rivals.
Torres Gives PSG the Lead
Torres replaced Khvicha Kvaratskhelia shortly before the hour mark and made an immediate impact.
In the 66th minute, he headed home a cross from Desire Doue to put PSG ahead.
The goal added to Torres’ impressive scoring record since joining the French and European champions from Barcelona.
Marseille Equalise
Marseille responded six minutes later when England midfielder Angel Gomes scored an excellent goal to make it 1-1.
However, PSG quickly regained the advantage.
Three minutes after Marseille’s equaliser, captain Marquinhos scored the winning goal. The Brazilian defender connected with a cross from Nuno Mendes, with his first effort saved by goalkeeper Jeffrey de Lange before he followed up with the rebound.
Marseille Finish with 10 Players
Marseille’s task became more difficult late in the match when United States international Timothy Weah was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
PSG held on to secure a 2-1 away victory.
Torres Continues Impressive Run
Torres has now scored seven goals in six appearances across all competitions for PSG since joining the club. Despite his scoring form, he has started only three of those matches.
He also scored PSG’s winning goal against Brest last weekend.
The victory moved PSG up to sixth place in the Ligue 1 table, five points behind leaders AS Monaco after five matches.
Torres will now join Spain’s squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixture against England, marking La Roja’s first match since their World Cup triumph in July.
