Food Delivery Rider Forgives Driver After Viral Road Incident in Karachi Ends in Settlement
A food delivery rider involved in a widely shared road incident in Karachi’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA) has chosen to forgive the driver after both sides reached an out-of-court settlement, according to police.
The case was resolved at Darakhshan Police Station, where the rider decided not to pursue legal action following an agreement between the two parties.
Matter Resolved Through Mutual Agreement
According to the DIG South Media Cell, the driver compensated the rider for damage to his motorcycle as well as other financial losses resulting from the incident.
After receiving the compensation, the rider declined to register a First Information Report (FIR), bringing the matter to a close through mutual consent.
Family Assures Authorities
During the proceedings, the driver’s father told police that his son had been experiencing stress at the time of the incident and sometimes struggled to control his temper, particularly in situations involving road traffic.
He assured authorities that he would counsel his son to remain calm and avoid similar confrontations in the future.
Incident Drew Attention on Social Media
The incident gained widespread attention after a video circulated online showing an altercation between the driver and the food delivery rider following a minor collision involving a car and a motorcycle in DHA.
The footage sparked extensive discussion on social media and prompted police to launch an investigation.
Police Traced the Suspect
Investigators identified the driver using the vehicle’s registration details. Police also coordinated with the food delivery company to locate and contact the rider.
Authorities said the driver’s father later appeared at the police station, where both parties agreed to resolve the dispute peacefully without further legal proceedings.
Investigation Concluded After Settlement
With the rider choosing not to file an FIR after receiving compensation, police concluded the matter in accordance with the agreement reached by both parties.
The case has highlighted the importance of resolving traffic disputes peacefully and avoiding confrontations that can escalate into larger incidents.
