Government Revises Fuel Prices: Petrol Gets Minor Relief, Diesel Becomes Costlier

The federal government has announced a fresh revision in fuel prices, providing a small reduction in petrol prices while increasing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).

Under the latest notification, petrol has been reduced by Rs. 0.75 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs. 335.06 per litre. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel has increased by Rs. 2.24 per litre and will now be sold at Rs. 390.62 per litre.

The revised prices are effective for the next 24 hours under the government’s daily fuel price adjustment mechanism.

International Oil Prices Remain Elevated

The latest price revision comes as global crude oil prices continue to remain high. At the time of the announcement:

  • Brent crude was trading at around $91 per barrel
  • West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood near $85 per barrel

International oil market trends continue to influence domestic fuel prices in Pakistan.

Fuel Prices Continue to Rise

Despite the slight reduction in petrol, fuel prices have increased significantly since the introduction of daily pricing.

According to recent figures:

  • Petrol has increased by Rs. 24.34 per litre
  • High-speed diesel has increased by Rs. 67.29 per litre

The government has stated that daily fuel price adjustments are linked to fluctuations in international oil prices and other market factors.
