ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Sets Record Revenue as Pakistan Co-Hosts Successful Event
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, jointly hosted by Pakistan and the UAE, has delivered one of the strongest financial performances in international cricket history, generating record revenue for the International Cricket Council (ICC).
According to reported figures, the tournament earned approximately $638.42 million in revenue from 15 matches, while profits were estimated to exceed $586 million.
This represents a major increase compared to the 2017 edition held in England, which generated around $187 million, making the 2025 tournament more than three times higher in revenue.
The strong financial outcome has highlighted Pakistan’s growing importance as a host nation for global cricket events. Although Pakistan’s domestic market contributes a smaller share to overall ICC revenues, matches involving Pakistan continue to attract significant international viewership and commercial interest.
The 2025 Champions Trophy was held as part of the ICC’s $3.2 billion revenue cycle for 2024–2027, where the performance of each tournament plays a key role in future hosting decisions.
Other recent ICC events showed mixed financial results. The 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup in India generated revenue but recorded a loss due to high hosting costs, while the World Test Championship Final in England produced modest profits from a single match.
The success of the Champions Trophy 2025 has further strengthened Pakistan’s profile as a viable and profitable destination for major international cricket tournaments, potentially opening the door for more ICC events in the future.
