PCB Introduces Central Contracts for Pakistan U19 Players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced plans to introduce central contracts for Under-19 players for the first time, providing financial support and recognition to young cricketers based on their performances.
The decision was announced after PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met members of the Pakistan U19 squad following their successful tour of England. Pakistan won the four-match one-day series against England 3-1.
During the meeting, Naqvi spoke with the players individually, praised their recent performances, and encouraged them to maintain their focus as they work toward senior-level cricket.
Coach Welcomes PCB Decision
Pakistan U19 head coach Shahid Anwar welcomed the introduction of central contracts at the junior level.
He said recognition for strong performances can help young players build confidence, while the PCB chairman’s encouragement provides additional support to the players and coaching staff.
U19 Captain Highlights Training Camps
Pakistan U19 captain Farhan Yousuf also welcomed the decision and credited the training camps held in Multan over the past two years for contributing to the team’s development.
Farhan said the players were encouraged by their meeting with the PCB chairman and described the introduction of central contracts at the U19 level as a significant moment for the squad.
Players Appreciate Financial Support
Aliyan Salman said the contracts would help improve the players’ confidence and morale while allowing them to concentrate more fully on cricket.
Jahangir Bilal noted that the financial assistance could also help young players contribute toward their families’ needs.
Rizwanullah thanked the PCB chairman and the board for recognizing the team’s performances, saying the rewards and contracts would provide further motivation to the young cricketers.
The new contract system is expected to provide additional support to Pakistan’s emerging players as they continue their development toward international cricket.
