IG Railways Orders Strict Surveillance of Recovered Land in Rawalpindi

IG Railways Police Muhammad Wasi Fakhre Sultan visited railway land on Shah Bukhari Road in Rawalpindi on May 15, 2026, following a recent anti-encroachment operation carried out by the department.

During the visit, accompanied by senior railway police officials, the IG directed authorities to ensure that no illegal encroachments return to the recovered land. He emphasized that protecting railway property is an important responsibility of the Railways Police and said these assets should be utilized efficiently to help improve Pakistan Railways’ revenue.

The IG instructed officers to maintain regular monitoring of the recovered sites and work closely with railway authorities to ensure the land is used for productive purposes that benefit the national institution.

Later, he also inspected the under-construction SRP Office and related buildings at PRP Rawalpindi. Officials were directed to complete the remaining development work as soon as possible in line with the revised PC-1 plan. He further stressed the importance of making the auditorium and administrative block operational at the earliest.

During the visit, the IG reviewed cleanliness arrangements at the construction site and ordered the immediate removal of debris, bushes, and unnecessary vegetation.

The visit concluded with an inspection of Hassan Railway Police Lines Rawalpindi, where the IG reviewed residential and office facilities and issued instructions regarding further development and improved cleanliness within the premises.
