Jeffrey Crowe Named Match Referee for Pakistan ODI Tri-Series

ICC announces officials for Pakistan’s 12 international matches from October 9 to November 21
LAHORE: Former New Zealand Test cricketer and ICC Elite Panel match referee Jeffrey Crowe has been appointed as the match referee for Pakistan’s upcoming ODI tri-series involving England and Sri Lanka.
The seven-match tri-series will be played between October 18 and 31 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. It will form part of a busy international schedule in Pakistan that also includes a three-match T20I series and two World Test Championship matches against Sri Lanka.
The ICC has announced the match officials for all 12 international fixtures scheduled between October 9 and November 21.
Crowe will oversee all seven matches of the ODI tri-series. He previously made his Test debut as a match referee in October 2004 during the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Test in Faisalabad.
The New Zealander recently reached another significant milestone after completing 350 ODI matches and becoming only the second match referee to officiate 700 international matches.
ODI Tri-Series Officials
Pakistan’s Ahsan Raza and Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, both members of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, will be among the officials for the tri-series.
New Zealand’s Wayne Knights, along with Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob, Nasir Hussain, Rashid Riaz Waqar and Faisal Khan Aafreedi, will also perform umpiring duties.
Knights and Asif Yaqoob will officiate the opening match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi.
Sharfuddoula and Knights will share third-umpire responsibilities throughout the tournament, with Sharfuddoula taking the role in the opening game.
Pakistan-Sri Lanka T20I Series
The three-match T20I series will be played in Rawalpindi on October 9, 11 and 13.
Ali Naqvi has been appointed as the match referee, while Tariq Rasheed will serve as fourth umpire in all three matches.
Rashid Riaz Waqar and Nasir Hussain will be the on-field umpires for the opening T20I, with Faisal Khan Aafreedi as third umpire.
For the second match, Faisal and Nasir will officiate on the field, while Rashid will be the third umpire.
Faisal and Rashid will take charge on the field in the third T20I, with Nasir serving as third umpire.
Test Series Officials
Dean Cosker, a former English first-class cricketer and member of the ICC Emerging Match Referees Group, will serve as match referee for the two-Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Cosker began his international officiating career in October 2024 and has so far refereed 16 ODIs, 17 T20Is, three women’s ODIs and six women’s T20Is.
South Africa’s Adrian Holdstock and Allahuddien Palekar, along with Australia’s Rodney Tucker, have been appointed as on-field umpires for the Tests.
Holdstock and Tucker will officiate the first Test in Rawalpindi, while Palekar and Holdstock will take the field in the second Test in Lahore.
Palekar will be the third umpire in Rawalpindi, with Tucker performing the role in Lahore.
