A Karachi court on Saturday granted a seven-day physical remand of Anmol alias “Pinki” in a drug-related case after police requested further custody for investigation.

The suspect was produced before a judicial magistrate (central) where investigators sought additional time, stating that further inquiry was needed to trace alleged links in a wider drug network. The court approved the request and sent her into police custody for seven days in one of the cases registered against her.

Multiple Cases Under Investigation

Police officials informed the court that Anmol alias Pinki is also facing several other cases. In another proceeding, her physical remand was extended for two more days in a separate case, while she was sent on judicial remand in 13 additional cases.

Investigators claim the suspect was arrested during a raid in Karachi’s Garden area on May 12, along with drugs and other material allegedly linked to a wider supply network. Officials further stated that significant financial transactions have also been identified during the investigation.

Allegations and Court Proceedings

During the hearing, the defence lawyer opposed the request for extended custody, alleging mishandling of the case and claiming the suspect was not produced on time in previous proceedings.

The accused, however, disputed the police version and alleged she had been detained earlier in Lahore before being transferred to Karachi. She also claimed she faced mistreatment during custody, allegations which authorities have not officially confirmed.

Court Observations

The court questioned procedural aspects of the investigation and expressed concern over the handling of records and documentation presented by the investigating officer.

Police maintain that the investigation is ongoing and more suspects linked to the alleged network are expected to be arrested as the case develops.
