KP Police Introduces Updated Uniform Policy for Senior Officers from July 1
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has announced an updated uniform policy for senior officers, introducing mandatory black belts and black shoes as part of the official dress code from July 1, 2026.
The revised guidelines were approved through Standing Order No. 5/2026, according to an official notification issued by the Inspector General of Police.
New Dress Code for Senior Ranks
The updated policy applies to police officers holding the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and all higher-ranking officers across the province.
Under the new rules, eligible officers will be required to wear black belts and black shoes with their official uniforms to maintain consistency in appearance.
Implementation Begins July 1
Police authorities have instructed all relevant departments and field offices to implement the revised uniform policy before it officially comes into effect.
Senior officers have been directed to ensure compliance with the updated dress code from July 1, 2026.
Focus on Professional Appearance
According to the KP Police, the revised uniform standards are intended to promote a more professional, disciplined and standardized appearance among senior officers across the province.
Officials say the changes are part of ongoing efforts to maintain uniformity within the police force while reinforcing the organization’s professional image during official duties.
The updated policy applies only to the specified senior ranks, while existing uniform guidelines for other personnel remain unchanged unless further instructions are issued.
