Iran’s Supreme Leader Calls for Legal Action Over Civilian Casualties and Conflict
TEHRAN: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has called for legal action over what he described as violations of international law during recent regional conflicts, urging relevant authorities to pursue cases through both domestic and international legal channels.
The remarks were shared in a written message marking the anniversary of the 1981 bombing that killed senior Iranian judicial official Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti and several other political figures.
Call for Legal Proceedings
In his message, Khamenei said Iranian authorities should continue efforts to document and pursue legal cases related to damage caused during recent conflicts.
He stated that civilian casualties, attacks on public facilities and other incidents should be investigated through established legal processes.
According to the statement, Iranian institutions have been tasked with collecting evidence and pursuing the cases in accordance with national and international law.

Khamenei’s message referred to the conflicts involving Iran in recent years, including the 2025 confrontation and the military escalation that began earlier this year.
