KP Schools to Hold Summer Camps During Vacation Period
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department has announced summer vacations for schools across the province, while also confirming that academic activities will continue in the form of summer camps in selected institutions.
According to the official schedule, primary schools in plain areas will remain closed for summer vacations from June 1 to August 31, 2026. Middle, high, and higher secondary schools will observe holidays from June 15 to August 16, 2026.
Despite the vacation period, summer zone schools will continue limited academic sessions through summer camps during June. These classes will be held from Monday to Thursday on a reduced timetable.
Under the revised schedule, primary and middle school students will attend classes from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, while high and higher secondary students will continue until 9:40 am.
The department has outlined specific subjects for the summer camp sessions, including core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Urdu, General Science, and General Knowledge for different grade levels.
Officials said the arrangement is aimed at maintaining academic continuity while still providing students relief during peak summer conditions.
A separate vacation schedule has also been issued for schools in winter zone districts, where institutions will remain closed for one month in July.
School administrations have been given flexibility to adjust subjects and timing according to student needs, but daily academic activities must not extend beyond 10:00 am.
