LESCO stops printing detailed tax breakdown on electricity bills, introduces QR-based system

LESCO stops printing detailed tax breakdown on electricity bills, introduces QR-based system

LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has revised its electricity bill format and stopped printing detailed tax and charge breakdowns on paper bills.

Under the new system, consumers will no longer see itemised details such as fuel price adjustments, quarterly tariff adjustments, and other surcharges directly on the printed bill. Instead, only the total payable amount will be shown.

To view the full breakdown of taxes and charges, consumers will now need to scan a QR code printed on the bill. The company says the change is part of a shift toward a more digital billing system.

According to LESCO, the redesigned bill includes multiple QR codes. One code provides access to detailed billing information, another is for registration under the protected consumer category, while a third facilitates online bill payment.

The updated format replaces the previously detailed printed structure with a simplified version, while maintaining access to complete information through digital means.
