LPG Prices Increase in Several Markets Across Pakistan

Consumers in several parts of Pakistan have reported another increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, with retail rates varying across different markets.

According to consumer reports, LPG is currently being sold between Rs370 and Rs410 per kilogram in some areas, compared with the officially notified price of Rs241 per kilogram.

The difference between the official and retail prices has raised concerns among consumers, many of whom say the higher rates are increasing the cost of household energy and adding to monthly expenses.

Several buyers also reported difficulty finding LPG at the officially notified rate, stating that they have had to purchase the fuel at higher market prices due to limited availability in some locations.

LPG remains an important source of fuel for cooking and other domestic uses in many households across the country, making price changes a significant concern for consumers.

Members of the public have called on the relevant authorities to improve market oversight, ensure compliance with officially notified prices, and take action against any illegal practices such as hoarding or overcharging where violations are found.

Authorities have not yet announced any new measures regarding the reported difference between the official and retail market prices.
