Ministry Warns Private Hajj Applicants Against Cash Payments for Hajj 2027
Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an important advisory for pilgrims planning to perform Hajj 2027 under the private scheme, urging them to avoid making payments in cash to individuals or private Hajj operators.
The ministry said pilgrims should use only the officially designated Digital Hajj Management System or the Pak Hajj App to pay their Hajj-related expenses.
Ministry Advises Pilgrims to Use Official Payment Channels
According to the advisory, pilgrims should not hand over money to any person outside the approved digital payment process.
The ministry said the measure has been introduced to reduce the risk of fraud, protect pilgrims from potential financial losses, and improve oversight of private Hajj operators.
Pilgrims have also been advised to carefully follow the official procedures and avoid relying on unofficial payment arrangements, even if they are offered by individuals claiming to represent a Hajj operator.
Only Licensed Hajj Operators Allowed
Under Pakistan’s Hajj policy, those choosing the private Hajj scheme are required to make arrangements through officially licensed private Hajj operators.
The ministry clarified that payments should not be made in cash or through any other method that is not part of the approved system.
Authorities have repeatedly encouraged intending pilgrims to verify the status of their selected operator and complete financial transactions through the prescribed channels.
Pakistan’s Hajj Quota for 2027
Pakistan has been allocated a total quota of 179,210 pilgrims for Hajj 2027.
Of the total quota:
- 71,684 pilgrims will travel under the private Hajj scheme.
- The remaining pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government scheme.
The ministry also highlighted that approximately 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims were unable to perform Hajj in 2025 for various reasons.
Important Advice for Pilgrims
Pilgrims preparing for Hajj 2027 are advised to keep payment records and use only officially approved platforms for financial transactions.
The ministry said following the prescribed digital payment procedure will help safeguard pilgrims’ money while allowing authorities to better monitor private Hajj operators.
Intending pilgrims should therefore remain cautious of individuals demanding cash payments or asking them to transfer money through unofficial channels.
