Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf Fined After PSL 11 On-Field Incident
Rawalpindiz fast bowler Mohammad Amir and Islamabad United all-rounder Faheem Ashraf have been fined following a brief on-field exchange during their Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) match at the National Bank Stadium.
Both players were penalised 10% of their match fees for Level 1 breaches of the PSL Code of Conduct. Amir was found to have violated Article 2.5, relating to inappropriate gestures or behaviour towards a dismissed batter. Faheem Ashraf was charged under Article 2.21 for actions that brought the game into disrepute.
According to match officials, the incident occurred during the 17th over when Amir dismissed Faheem with a catch behind the wicket. After the dismissal, Amir made a gesture towards the batter, which led to a heated reaction from Faheem as he walked towards the bowler holding his bat.
Players from both sides quickly intervened to calm the situation and prevent further escalation.
Both Amir and Faheem accepted the charges and agreed to the penalties imposed by the match referee.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindiz continue to struggle in the tournament, sitting at the bottom of the table with only one win from nine matches. They are set to play their final league fixture against Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 26.
