NAB Recovers Rs. 1.86 Billion Amenity Land From Private Housing Society in Peshawar
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recovered a significant piece of amenity land from a private housing society in Peshawar and handed it over to the relevant local government authority.
According to NAB documents, the recovered property covers 66 kanals and 11 marlas and has an estimated value of approximately Rs. 1.86 billion.
Land Transferred to TMA Shah Alam
The recovered land is located in Khazana Greens Housing Society, situated in Mouza Khazana, Tehsil Shah Alam, District Peshawar.
The property had been designated as amenity land for public and civic purposes. Such land is intended for facilities including:
- Public parks
- Roads and other infrastructure
- Graveyards
- Public buildings
- Other community facilities
NAB has completed the necessary transfer and mutation process, placing the land in the name of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Shah Alam.
NAB Continues Recovery of Public Land
NAB officials said the bureau is coordinating with LUBCA to identify and recover amenity plots reserved for public use from private housing developments.
The recovered properties are subsequently transferred to the appropriate local regulatory or government authorities to ensure they remain available for their designated public purposes.
An NAB KP official said private housing societies are required to transfer land reserved for civic infrastructure to the relevant government authorities.
The official added that protecting such property is important to ensure that land allocated for public facilities is not diverted from its intended purpose and remains available for the benefit of local communities.
The latest recovery is part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public land and strengthen compliance with regulations governing private housing societies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
